(Nashville, Tenn.) – Holladay Construction Group has completed the 18,000 square foot tenant build-out for ad agency, redpepper, at the BowTruss Building in Nashville, TN. The challenge in building this particular space was that it had to be as creative and fluid as the people that would be working in it.
The office is filled with energy and features an abundance of open space for team collaboration, and to support innovation. The team at redpepper lives and breathes their core values, which embrace change, supports growth, embodies unique creativity, and is passionate about idea generation and turning those ideas into an executable reality for the success of their clients.
The redpepper office environment supports these values, with its rolling partitions to subdivide impromptu meeting spaces; an open café flex space to discuss projects while enjoying a cup of coffee or to host an after work social event; walls that are lined with whiteboard paint, magnetic surfaces, and cork board to display ideas, sketches, and photos; and areas to unwind and play a pick-up basketball game or brush up skills on the putting green. For HCG, it’s another great example of unconventional office space for a changing workforce demographic.
“Moving into the BowTruss building was quite the adventure for redpepper–this was our first big move and design of a work space, and consequently we learned a lot of new things along the way,” said redpepper founder Tim McMullen. “The entire team at Holladay was so helpful. They provided us with tons of design solutions, were amazing creative problem solvers and always completed things diligently. They somehow managed to remain extremely friendly through the whole process of bringing our somewhat crazy vision to life. All in all, our build was truly a team effort with a lot of ups and downs and we were so happy to work alongside Holladay Construction Group through it all.”
The transformation of The BowTruss Building from vacant warehouse to a modern, high-tech office space earned a 2015 ULI Nashville Excellence in Development Award. The awards entries were judged on criteria that support ULI’s commitment to best practices in the use of land, and leadership in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide. The ULI Nashville Excellence in Development Awards represent the mission that strong communities, good development partners, and excellence in development and design should be recognized and best practices shared.
