When a Holladay Properties associate reached out to the Holladay Construction Group team asking for help in finding face masks to help his son, a surgery resident at Advocate Masonic Hospital in Chicago, two of our associates stepped up by donating brand new, N95 respirators.
Michael O’Connor, VP of Development & Leasing for Holladay Properties’ Portage office, recently reached out to Holladay Construction Group asking for help in finding face masks to help his son. His son is a surgery resident at Advocate Masonic Hospital and his department, while only performing emergency surgeries currently, is responsible for isolating all of the potential COVID-19 positive patients as well as installing ventilators for those who need it, a dangerous procedure requiring protection for the doctors and nurses.
When O’Connor found out that the hospital had run out of masks and other protective items, he asked for assistance in finding needed PPE items from Holladay Construction Group. When he reached out to Scott Brown, Vice President, and Frank Trapane, Assistant Project Manager, at the Clarendon Hills, IL office, they both offered to donate their new N95 respirators.
A N95 designation is given to respirators that have undergone careful testing and been found to block at least 95 percent of test particles. They have also been designed to achieve a close fit and are better at protecting wearers from small particles than face masks. N95 respirators are common to both in the healthcare and construction industries. The respirator masks donated by Holladay Construction Group will help keep the medical staff safe during the current health crisis.
Holladay Construction Group is proud to be part of helping to keep healthcare workers, and family of our fellow Holladay company associates, safe and healthy. For more information on COVID-19, visit the CDC’s website.
