Q: How long have you been with HCG? When did you start?
Brian: I started working for HCG in January of 2016 so I have been here for 2 years and 9 months.
Q: What is your background in the construction industry (i.e. education, experience, previous employers)?
Brian: I graduated from Indiana State University in 1986 with Construction Management Degree. I have over 32 years in the construction business serving in both estimating and operations capacity. I have worked for top ENR firms, namely McDevitt & Street/Bovis, Clark Construction Group, Pepper Construction, Walbridge Aldinger & MA Mortenson. I have been fortunate enough to serve with top teams building projects across the country in all market sectors consisting of Retail, Healthcare, Sports Facilities, Institutional, Higher and K-12 Education, Office, Multi-Family, Hospitality, Industrial and Wind/Solar Energy.
Q: What is the best thing about your job?
Brian: I enjoy leading teams of talented people to build projects on time and under budget.
Q: What is the worst thing about your job?
Brian: Having to face the reality that HCG can not be a part of every project and that the market must be shared with our competitors.
Q: If you could nominate anyone at HCG for “Employee of the Month”, who would it be and why?
Brian: No ONE person in this company can make it without the other and therefore no one is above the other…we all work hard as a team and win or lose we are still that team.
Q: Family life details:
Brian: Married for 25 years this month have (2) children (1) daughter and (1) son both presently in college. I have one really lazy and very spoiled pet named Bennett.
Q: How do you spend your free time, away from work?
Brian: I spend “free” time with family going to different events. I also enjoy cycling, golfing and fishing preferably deep sea.

Q: Can you share a fun fact about you, something interesting that others may not know?
Brian: Not sure this is “fun” but, through previous projects and employers, I was fortunate to meet and work with both David Copperfield and Warren Buffett on their respective projects.
