Holladay Construction Group recently teamed up with Holladay Properties in Portage for the United Way of Porter County‘s Day of Caring. The energetic group of 12 hardworking volunteers spent the day transforming an old farm house into a beautiful sanctuary for Family Promise, a nonprofit group dedicated to providing homeless families the help they need to get on their feet.

Family Promise of Porter County is hoping to be the newest affiliate of Family Promise and recently acquired an old farm house in Portage, IN to serve as sanctuary for homeless families. The sanctuary will provide an address and a home base for families to search for jobs, find a long-term housing solution, and receive financial literacy education and mentoring if needed.

While a part of the Family Promise programs, families are provided with temporary housing, meals, and services at the sanctuary. Family Promise of Porter County is teaming up with local congregations to provide housing to families in need.

Our Day of Caring volunteers spent the day landscaping outside and painting inside and really did transform the facility! We’re extremely proud of the volunteers and our team’s commitment to community and service.
